Crystalline Vase Handmade with White Crystals Grown in the White Glaze, Crystalline Raku Stoneware Collection, for Home Decor or Dinning

This crystalline pottery vase with my 'Wedding White' glaze is made in my studio using a high fire porcelain and thrown on a potter's wheel.

The crystalline glaze is produced through specific glaze formulation and carefully controlled firing procedures. I fire my kiln to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit and then I hold the temperature at about 2000 degrees for 2-7 hours to give the crystals time to form and grow.

The glaze contains zinc particles, which will crystallize much as the manner in which a dust particle acts as a seed for a snowflake.

Thus, capturing the essence of natural crystals frozen on porcelain.

I glaze the insides of all my crystalline vases so they will hold water and are great for fresh flowers beautiful on their own. The bases are ground smooth to remove the glaze that needed to flow into a catch-tray during firing.

Look for other coordinating pieces in my 'Wedding White' glaze series, and remember to "like" and/or "favorite" me as well!
